Suddenly, Obsidius turned to face Lila and whispered something inaudible through clenched teeth. Lila nodded silently, then took a step towards Kym with an unsettling smile that seemed forced. The two of them moved as if they were part of some ritual dance, their movements calculated yet unnatural. Inside the chamber, the shadows seemed to swirl around the symbol, growing denser and darker. Obsidius felt a sudden chill run down his spine as if something was watching him from within the darkness. He took a deep breath, squared his shoulders, and stepped closer to Kym, reaching out with trembling hands towards the glowing mark. The air around them seemed to grow heavier, and the shadows swirled faster, twisting and turning as if possessed by some malevolent force. Obsidius felt a sudden surge of energy coursing through his veins. He could hear Lila's breath hitch in anticipation behind him. He closed his eyes and focused on the symbol, feeling its power surging within him. He reached out with his mind, reaching towards the void beyond the chamber walls. the symbol flared brightly, blinding Obsidius for a moment. When he opened his eyes, the darkness had retreated, and the shadows were still once more. Kym stood before him, her eyes wide with fear and wonder.
