The giant of dreams. By Carlos del Puente
viernes, diciembre 20, 2024In a small village perched on the edge of a cliff lived a man named Zeno. Zeno was renowned throughout the village for his ability to dream. Not just any dreams, but giant dreams, so vast that they seemed to overflow from his head every night.
Every morning, Zeno woke up with the feeling that something enormous and heavy had been pressing down on him during the night. His friends often said that his dreams were so big they needed their own space, like a house or perhaps a small country.
One day, Zeno decided it was time to give his dreams a home. So, he began building a tower, a tower so tall that it could contain all his giant dreams. The villagers mocked him, saying it was impossible to build something like that, but Zeno simply smiled and continued working.
After many months, the tower was complete. It was so tall that its steps disappeared into the sky. Zeno climbed to the top and there, with great effort, he brought forth his first giant dream. It was a dream of a magical forest, filled with talking trees and flying animals. He placed it gently in the tower, and instantly, the forest began to grow, filling the tower with life and color.
But Zeno soon realized that his dreams were too large for the tower. Every night, new giant dreams appeared in his mind, eager to escape and expand. He decided then that he needed something bigger than a tower.
He came up with the idea of creating a floating island, suspended in the air, where he could house all his dreams. He worked tirelessly, using strange and magical materials he found in his dreams. Finally, after years of effort, the floating island was ready.
Zeno invited all the villagers to visit his new dream haven. They ascended to the island and marveled at the sight. There were chocolate mountains, rivers of fruit juice, and cities built from clouds. It was a place where reality and fantasy intertwined in a surreal manner.
But as more and more giant dreams occupied the island, strange things began to happen. The trees started speaking in unknown languages, and the flying animals dropped mysterious objects that no one could identify.
Zeno realized that his dreams were taking on a life of their own, and perhaps it was time to set them free. So, one night, he opened the gates of the island and let his giant dreams disperse across the world.
The next morning, the village awoke to a transformed world. There were trees that sang songs, buildings that constantly changed shape, and people who could fly just by thinking about it.
At first, the villagers were confused and frightened, but soon they adapted to this new reality. And Zeno, now known as "the giant of dreams," lived happily, knowing that his dreams had enriched the world in impossible ways.
And so, in that small village on the edge of the cliff, Zeno's dreams continued to expand, making the world a little stranger and more wonderful each day.
