Episodes 4 · 5 · 6

"The Choice"

Shadow of the boss filling the doorway. Total darkness.

"Your boss. The man you trust."

"What if he's the problem?"

Ram doesn't speak.

Doesn't run.

Presses himself against the wall.

Holds his breath.

The shadow enters slowly.

Flashlight. Cold light.

The boss sweeps the room with his eyes.

Doesn't see Ram.

Yet.

Takes a step toward the mirror.

Reads the words in the dust.

"SHE SAW EVERYTHING"

And smiles.

That's the worst part.

That he smiles.

Pulls out his phone. Calls someone.

"He's here. Found the room."

Pause.

"Yeah. Clean everything."

Hangs up.

Leaves.

The door stays ajar.

Ram waits. Ten seconds. Twenty.

Runs out.

Takes the stairs two at a time.

The platform is empty.

But his car... isn't where he left it.

The ground. Fresh oil. Someone moved it minutes ago.

His phone vibrates.

Message from Tor.

"Don't come to work. They're looking for an excuse to take you in."

Then another message.

"Ram. I found the twin sister."

"She's alive. And she's scared."

"Someone had already erased the words from the mirror. Someone who arrived before the boss. Someone who knew Ram was going to open that door."

"The Twin"

Two identical photos. Same face. Different names.

"Nadia is dead."

"Then... who is she?"

Tor has her hidden in a small apartment.

Third floor. Windows closed. Minimal light.

Ram enters.

Sees her.

The same face he saw at the station.

The same eyes. One brown. One gray.

"What's your name?" he asks.

Helen.

Helen. "What did you see?"

Silence.

Helen looks at her hands.

"I saw them kill my sister."

"Who?"

"Someone from your precinct."

Ram stops breathing.

"I need a name."

Helen shakes her head.

"If I say the name... the same thing happens to me as to her."

"We'll protect you."

"Like you protected her?"

Direct hit. Ram has no answer.

Tor steps in.

"Helen. Ram didn't know."

"Nobody knew. That was the plan."

Helen pulls an envelope from under the bed.

"Nadia kept evidence. For months."

Puts it on the table.

Ram opens it.

Photos. Dates. Bank transfers.

And a face.

The photo. Slow. Focusing.

Ram recognizes her.

It's not his boss.

Someone higher up. More dangerous.

"This goes all the way to the top," he says quietly.

"To the very end, Helen corrects.

Suddenly.

Glass breaking. Window. Third floor.

Tor shouts.

"Get down!"

"Someone knew where they were. Someone had followed them. And Ram had just realized something horrible: he had used his phone to lead them right there."

"No Way Out"

Broken window. Glass on the floor. Blood. One single drop.

"Three people in that apartment."

"Only two came down."

Silence.

Dust in the air.

Ram lifts his head.

Tor is fine.

Helen...

Helen stands. Looking at the window.

A drone. Small. Black.

Built-in camera.

Someone is watching them right now.

Ram smashes it down.

"We have to move. Now."

They leave through the back stairs.

Street. Cold. Fine rain.

Get into Tor's car.

Start driving.

"Where are we going?" Helen asks.

"To a place they can't track us," Tor says.

"No such place exists," Helen replies.

Uncomfortable silence.

Ram looks in the rearview mirror.

Headlights behind. Two cars. Close.

"They're following us."

Tor speeds up.

Left turn. Another turn.

The cars are still there.

"Ram," Tor says, voice tense.

"I know."

"What do we do?"

Ram looks at the envelope with the photos.

Looks at Helen.

Looks at the headlights in the rearview.

And makes a decision.

"Stop the car."

"What?"

"Stop. The. Car."

Tor brakes.

Ram gets out.

Stands in the middle of the street.

Alone. In the rain.

Waiting for the approaching cars.

"What is he doing?" Helen whispers.

Tor grips the steering wheel.

"What people with nothing to lose do."

Ram facing forward. Rain. Blinding headlights.

Absolute silence.

The cars brake.

Doors opening.

Shadows getting out.

Ram raises his hand.

He has something.

His phone. Screen on. A live stream.

"I'm live," he says loudly. "Forty thousand people are watching me right now."

Pause.

"Anything that happens to me... they already know everything."

The shadows stop.

Nobody moves.

Ten seconds.

Twenty.

A door closing.

An engine starting.

And the cars... drive away.

Tor exhales.

Helen closes her eyes.

Ram gets back in the car. Soaked.

"Did it work?" Tor asks.

Ram looks at his phone.

Turns off the screen.

"There was no stream."

"The envelope with the evidence was intact. But when Ram opened it again... the most important photo was gone. And only three people knew where that envelope was."
